Your specialist will then send you an authorization form that you’ll need to fill and sign before your information can be transferred to the point of contact you’ve designated.
Yes, everything you talk about during the session is confidential. The only exceptions to confidentiality are if your specialist believes you are a risk to yourself or others, in which case they’ll ask your permission to contact other professionals involved in your care such as your General Practitioner or a next of kin. This will always be discussed with you first. During your initial session, your psychologist will cover all of these agreements with you to make sure you have informed consent.
We process all our payments using Stripe, a global online payment processor trusted by thousands of businesses across the globe. Stripe exceeds the most stringent security standards. All credit card numbers are encrypted and safely stored in Stripes’ advanced data center. This ensures both the security and integrity of your information. Let us explain to you the difference between them and then you can choose which one is a better fit. One of the most important differences between psychologists and coaches is that psychologists (also referred to as therapists) are trained to treat mental illness conditions like anxiety, depression, phobias, PTSD and OCD while coaches don’t. Generally speaking, psychotherapy focuses on the past and on introspection and analysis, with the hope of resolving past issues and creating a happier, more desirable quality of life and relationships. Coaching on the other hand is more focused on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change In other words, the focus in psychotherapy is more on healing from the past, while the focus in coaching is more on getting you to where you wish to be next. That being said, many coaches are able to help you understand how the past contributes to your present, and psychotherapists can help you achieve your future goals Holistic healing is the practice of health and wellness that considers the entire person and all of the internal and external factors affecting them. Holistic healing seeks to maintain or restore balance among (and within) the various dimensions of the individual. Rather than focusing on a specific condition or even an illness, holistic healing addresses all parts of the individual and their life. As such, holistic healing treatments include a range of combinations of remedies. These may include psychotherapy, mindfulness exercises, meditation, physical exercises, physiotherapy, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, art and music therapy, and much more. Ultimately, you might end up trying different modalities - like we did - before you find the one that feels right to you.

Let us simplify it for you: A psychologist has studied for a minimum of seven years to acquire their first degree of Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and subsequently a Doctorate in a form of applied Psychology. Psychologists have training in a range of different therapeutic approaches and also in research and evaluation of treatment outcomes. This allows them to take a scientific and informed approach to the treatment of mental disorders and emotional difficulties. Therapists and counsellors have variable training and are often only able to deliver one therapy model per specialist, as opposed to multiple approaches. A psychiatrist is a medically qualified doctor who specializes in the field of psychiatry. This means that a psychiatrist can rule out the physical cause of your difficulties and also order tests and prescribe medication. This is something that only medical doctors can do. Some psychiatrists have also undergone specialist training in psychotherapy which places them in a unique position of being able to understand both the body and the mind, and work flexibly between the prescription of medication and talking therapy. A major difference between clinical and counselling psychologists is their area of focus and the population they work with. While both clinical and counselling psychologists help clients navigate emotional, social and physical stressors, clinical psychologists are trained to operate in cases where psychopathology is concerned. Clinical psychologists hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology, at a minimum, from an accredited university and may have a strong foundation in research. They are also trained in using a variety of psychometric assessments to measure whether psychological difficulties are clinically significant. Counseling psychologists hold a master’s degree in counselling psychology, at a minimum, from an accredited university and may specialize in areas such as marriage and family therapy or grief.

You can of course do your own research on the entity that issued the certifications to find out more about it. You can also ask your specialist directly once you book a session with them.
You are not able to contact a specialist before booking a session with them. In fact, if you contact a specialist outside of the platform, it is considered a breach of the terms of use and gives us the right to deactivate your account. The best way to ask questions will be through the free discovery session offered by the specialist. In case the specialist does not offer the discovery session, then the only way to ask your questions is during a session you purchase. We have carefully curated our specialist profiles with all the information you’ll need to suss them out, including individualized video content which offers you insight on their specializations, demeanor, and general energy.
As a platform, we don't set session prices. What we work hard to do is bring you a carefully curated collection of specialists from all around the world who offer different rates based on their qualifications and backgrounds. Our goal at Hakkini is to present you with a range of price options to suit every pocket. Everyone should be able to get the support they need.
This depends on the specialist, as Free Discovery Calls vary in format from one expert to the next. Typically, a Free Discovery Call is about both of you getting acquainted with one another. The specialist will want to hear more from you about your challenge to make sure that he/she can help. The specialist will also answer any questions you might have so make sure you are prepared with any questions or concerns that you would like clarity on.
You are not obliged to continue with a specialist who you feel is not the right fit. We recommend you start your experience by purchasing a single session, and only commit to a package once you’ve made sure you’ve found your match. Since packages are usually given at a discounted rate, refunds aren’t offered when you buy packages. Discuss all aspects of your purchase directly with your specialist.
We have a dedicated team at Hakkini whose role is to ensure that every specialist we bring to the platform is highly qualified, fully licensed (where applicable) and in good standing. Specialists who apply are required to provide us with all educational certifications as well as proper licensure documentation. We then engage a 3rd party entity who specializes in verifying their educational certificates and licensing from relevant authorities and institutions around the world.

We’re with you, it’s no walk in the park to face your pain; it is however what many great minds have called the Hero’s Journey. Whoever you choose to work with will help you feel safe and confident enough to open up. It’s their job to create a respectful and supportive environment for you. Our specialists all conform to a code of ethics which obliges them to remain loyal to high professional standards, and to working within their competence. You are not expected to self-diagnose. The starting point is identifying the area(s) of your life that is bothering you, and choosing the specific challenges you face within these areas. You can also choose your preferences in terms of the specialist's years of experience, nationality, certification curriculum basis and so much more. And if you have done therapy or coaching or healing before and know the exact modality you are after, you can choose that in the advanced search! Don’t worry though - you can choose as many and as few filters as you want, and reset them whenever you need to. Rest assured that our search criteria is designed to make it easier for you to understand what you need, and our custom algorithm will match you with a list of the most suitable specialists to choose from. Once you get a list of most suitable specialists, all you need to do is check their profiles which are carefully curated with all the information you need in addition to individual video content, enabling you to gauge a sense of resonance and chemistry with them. As with everything, you might end up trying a couple of specialists before you find the perfect fit for you.

Yes absolutely! You and your partner can take sessions together and/or separately based on whatever you decide with your specialist.
Our Rescheduling policy enables you to reschedule the session 48 hours or more before the time of the session. We do this because our specialists’ need time to organize their numerous sessions with many clients. Rescheduling less than 48 hours before a session is not possible.
It's simple. On your dashboard, find the session you would like to cancel, click on the “view details” button next to it and you will see the “Reschedule” button which you need to click on. Once you click on it, the specialist calendar will pop up. Choose the date and time that suits you and confirm. Now you are all set!
Select the Reschedule button from your dashboard. You do this by clicking on a specific session, and selecting a change of timing from there. As per our rescheduling policy, just make sure you reschedule 48 hours or more in advance, otherwise we’ll need to hold you to your commitment out of respect for our specialists’ time.
We’re so glad you asked, because we’ve been there too. We strongly believe in emotional and mental support for children and teens, and commend you for braving it. Children and teens can use Hakkini only after they have your written consent, and will need to be directly supervised by you - their parent or guardian - while using the platform. If your child / teen is accessing the platform, they first must have parental sign-offs on our Terms of Use. You can never be too careful when it comes to parental controls on the world wide web.
Just your name and email address. You can even create an account using a nickname and alternate email address specifically for your Hakkini utilization in case you're in a more introverted mood. We’ll also need your timezone in order to schedule your sessions with a specialist who may be located in another country than yours. You won’t be able to use the platform without verifying your email address, so make sure you’ve got one you’re comfortable using for the purposes of your sessions with our platform.
Of course. Log into your account. Click on your image, and a drop-down menu will appear. Go to “My Account”, then choose a new name in the field entitled “Name or Nickname”. Don’t forget to click on “Save Changes”. Keep in mind that using numbers or symbols in your nickname increases the probability of it not being already taken.

Just make sure Hakkini emails don’t go to your junk email. Heads up: The number one reason people have trouble logging back into their Hakkini account is because they misspelled their email address or incorrectly entered their password. Please check for spelling and punctuation, then verify that the email address entered is the same as the one you used to sign up.
Absolutely! We are a web-based, mobile-responsive platform with plans to launch an app soon! You can access Hakkini on your desktop, phone (iPhone & Android) or iPad. Take your therapy, coaching and healing to-go so you have access to your specialist whenever and wherever you need help.
Simple! Go to “Upcoming Sessions” on your Dashboard, click on the “Connect” button next to the session with your specialist, and that will automatically take you to the virtual meeting room.

The pace of progress and change differs greatly depending on the nature of your challenges and disposition. Some therapeutic approaches are short-term, so you should be able to notice a change within a few sessions. Other approaches are long-term as they address long-standing patterns that developed in early life. Another phrase for this you may often hear is healing the inner child. During the first few sessions, your specialist should be able to give you some guidance about what therapeutic or coaching or healing approach is most suitable for you, and the likely duration of it based on the assessment and evaluation made. As a rough guideline, short term therapy, coaching or healing is anywhere between 6-12 sessions. Medium to longer term therapy, coaching or healing is between six months to a year and is aimed at addressing deeper, underlying vulnerabilities that increase the risk of difficulties resurfacing in the face of adverse life events.
We’re not trying to replace face-to-face therapy/coaching/healing. Many people prefer that format, which is fine. We created Hakkini because we found that a majority of people in the Middle East don’t know where to go to find help, and alarmingly found that the Middle East as a region has the highest rate of unattended emotional and mental health struggles. The process involves completing a series of required forms around your education, professional experience. Our team will then verify the submission of this data through primary and secondary sources. If all information is verified and your profile fits our criteria, we will set up a time to meet online where we can answer any questions you might have and we can both decide if we are a good fit for each other.

Yes, there is a dedicated team that will help you with onboarding, filling up your profile, shooting videos, setting up your calendars and making sure your joining process is smooth. Don’t worry, we get how overwhelming technology can get which is why our main focus is to make sure the platform is easy to use.
Notify the client in a professional manner, and find a way to recommend them to someone else who may be able to help. There’s no shame in ending therapy/coaching/healing relationships, in fact it happens often. We’ll do our best to help you find a way to redirect the client to an alternative treatment option.
All Profiles must include a profile video introducing the Specialist before the Profile goes live. All video and audio content pertaining to the specialist will be created in consultation with Hakkini and in accordance with our brand guidelines. Specialists must liaise with Hakkini for the recording of their profile video. Video content is intended to set you apart from other specialists. It also ensures that you are approached by clients who resonate with your approach. It is also about connecting you with clients who resonate with who you are as a person, what you stand for and care about, what you value, and how you think, emote and create.
You are not obligated to offer a specific number of sessions on a weekly or monthly basis. However, your account will only go live once you set up your calendar and indicate your availability. If your account is inactive and you don't make yourself available for sessions for more than 3 months on the Hakkini platform, we will want to understand why. If you continue to not make yourself available, that will be grounds for us to remove you from the platform.
No, we do not expect exclusivity from you. We will however work hard to earn it by making sure that you only want to be with us on the platform! P.s. if any platform asks you for exclusivity, make sure you ask for a minimum guaranteed revenue per month because that’s the only way exclusivity can be rationalized!
